Corona aerosol vaccine by China, a real game changer

Recent announcement by China unveiling Corona aerosol vaccine took the entire world by surprise and storm. How western pharma giants lost the gamesmanship by withholding avidly sought after vaccine and jacking up price or restricting supply is unthinkable? Next comes another blow from the blue: China proposes to produce and supply 125 Billion aerosol vaccines in the next twelve months!

Already China has supplied more than 750 million doses of corona vaccine in injectable form. Now she proposes to double down by embarking on the aerosol therapy as well. A game changer in the treatment of Covid-19 and definitely one up-manship in the geoeconomics contest between China vs west!

Aerosol therapy is a technique of administering medication directly into the airway and lungs usually via an inhaler. The primary use of aerosol therapy is in the treatment of respiratory disorders that include asthma and several other pulmonary diseases such as bronchitis. Building on the experience gained in these and paralleled with the treatment of Corona virus, Chinese scientists have found out that vaccine inoculation via nebulizer as an effective method of controlling it.

The present method of inoculation against Covid-19 via injection is not giving the expected results. Neither there has been any containment of the disease nor a sure cure from it even after initial and booster jabs. Three issues overweigh the current operation of Covid-19 vaccine: manufacturing, storage and administration. Establishing & operating production lines for vax is as an arduous task against the backdrop of Intellectual property rights registered by western pharma mafia which does not want to waive these to increase production worldwide.

Transporting & storage is another hassle. Most brands of vax require storing below minus 30 to 70 degree Celsius wile in transport & storage. Besides the shelf life does not exceed 120 days. Moreover there has to be special type of glass files to hold this vax. Considerable number of medical staff need to be employed in rolling out to areas far & wide. At the patient level injecting vaccine inoculation into the body is expected to encourage production of required anti-bodies. This means the quantum of vax need to be more. But the invasion of the target by virus is not mitigated due to the fact, lungs and airway receive fairly low dosage. Added to that stands antipathy in the minds of people towards any form of injection. In post-administration realm, disposing used glass files and medical supplies pose general health risk and environmental hazards.

Corona aerosol vaccine negates all these issues. Nebulizing is easily done by medical staff, or in the absence of them, anybody who have basic knowledge of using nasal spray. As nebulizing targets lungs & airways the aerosol therapy is very effective in containing the virus within the body and avoiding its spread outside.

The big plus point is the cost. For the cost of manufacturing a single vax dose 25 nebulisations could be manufactured. Besides, aerosol vax increases improving the yield of medicine and enhancing protection against the next invasion. Significantly put, aerosol vax can be substituted as booster shot as well. In many cases the booster or the second dose is administered after few months lapse, exposing the receivers of first dose only, to the risk of virus attack.

Now let us look at the figures. China announced production of 125 Billion aerosol nebulization in the next 12 months. What she needs is that amount of aerosol delivery devises. This is the limitation factor. Therefore, the world must join hands in the production of these delivery devices. That said, I think China is really revolutionizing Covid-19 treatment and by doing so getting an edge over the west in geoeconomics!

Cheers!
