China is the peer competitor for the US right now. Today Chinese business strategy is to narrow the gap between her and America ASAP. Here are ten goals that are set to achieve this mission:
1. China ensures that she rises together with Global South rather alone as peer competitor to America. In this regard she has the goodwill of many of the countries that are grouped in that segment. She also corralled in Russia as the main partner to usher in a multipolar world.
2. Not only Russia, she has in her camp countries that are spread across the globe at variance in terms of geoeconomics power and perhaps at odds with one another such as India and Pakistan. Besides China moves quickly to help cool tensions between her trading partners. Recent example is how she intervened diplomatically in the spat between Iran & Pakistan.
3. Becoming number one global trading partner is her geoeconomics goal. Already, China is the primary commercial partner for close upon 90 nations.
4. Networking is the goal of necessity for China. Via, BRI she worked on the aspect of physical networking by building bridges, roads, railways, ports and other infrastructure projects. Around 150 countries are listed as having signed up to the BRI. The participating countries include almost 75% of the world's population and account for more than half of the world's GDP. Put it in another way, China now accounts for almost 30% of the global trade.
5. Digital networking is carried through connecting countries in Central Asia, Eurasia and now West Asia. Digital Silk Road is to be extended to Africa as well in due course.
6. Global supply chain is monitored 24/7 to observe disruptions that could emanate from by America and/or the Global North.
7. Yet another interesting goal is to chill down America that China has no intention in unseating US Dollar from the global currency reserves & payments. But she has made it clear that alternatives for USD need to be found and nurtured in order to ensure level playing field.
8. Connected to the above point, China encourages the use of Yuan as settlement currency. According to SWIFT 6% of the global payments are effected thru Yuan. It can be envisaged Non SWIFT settlements must be more than this quantum. Incidentally, Yuan as reserve currency has an uptick to hover around 3%, not a big deal but should be a cause of worry for the Global North.
9. Edge in technology is the major goal that saw spate of new developments in quantum computing, artificial intelligence, 5G rollout and the expected unveiling of 6G along with passing out of numerous graduates in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) of universities in China and elsewhere.
10. Huawei introducing her Harmony OS 5, would tantamount to replace the present Android system consequent to the refusal by America to license it. Before long the global mobile system would have fully functional Huawei mobile technology as Android alternative.
In sum, China goals are integrated so that US hegemony especially in geoeconomics is brought to an end by 2030 Anno Domini.
Cheers!
