1. Stop creating patterns of your life. Sun Tzu says: “Do not repeat the tactics that have gained you one victory”. This is because you have made a pattern that must not be repeated. This applies to your actions, habits and daily routines too
2. You do the best and delegate the rest. Talent store is not always same in every person. At one time you are prime on doing something well. In other situations you can’t do it that way. So let another person try it out you give him all the support he needs
3. Recognize what is good at a particular situation and rope in the guy who can do it at the right manner, right time and right place. This business manoeuvre can be extended to business negotiation as well as business competition
4. During business negotiation the crunch time comes when either party can’t move forward or back down. The only exit is: “Buy him out or let him buy you out”. This can lead to Catch-22 situation. If the other party backs down you win hands down
5. Outsmarting other person is not easy when he knows the tricks of the trade. Now spread the cards and convince the other that he has two options: either win-win or win-lose. Since the knife can cut both ways other party will be willing to go with you
6. Always show respect and regard to the opposite number no matter what the situation is and no matter what he says. Because he runs his business and that alone demands you show him courtesy as a peer.
7. Do not throw your weight around. By the same token do not take any nonsense one utters either. You must be factual, straight to the point and give the pros and cons such that equanimity prevails in your dealings with business partners, business colleagues and definitely your business competitors!
