Why you need powerful enemies?

The great motivation in today’s geopolitics is the existence of strong enemy. America needs both Russia and China to succeed. How about success in business. Once gain the dictum is you need powerful enemies to succeed there as well. Michael Corleone crafts you a point plan to manage your enemies and make you a leader in business competition.

First salience in business competition is to choose your contenders selectively for engagement. Says Michael Corleone “I don’t think like I have to wipe out everybody, just my enemies”; here the gist of argument is a sworn enemy who need to be taken out and allowing others co-exist.

More interesting pointer is the way Michael Corleone learns lessons from his enemies. By keeping a sharp eye on the emeries he gets to know how business strategy could be crafted and implemented. He says “Never hate your enemies, it affects your judgement.” Succinctly put this means the moment you hate an opponent, hatred sets in your mind blinding your discretion and decision.

At the periphery opponents appear to be unhelpful. Yet in the final count contenders might be the best source of your defence. Michael Corleone explains in two distinct statements:

1. An enemy at large sharpens your wit, keep you focussed and always alert

2. Learn how to use enemies to your advantage

As crystallizing part comes when Michael Corleone chips in “The best way to win your enemy is to know him more”. Sun Tzu comes out with a truly amazing statement giving credence to the above: “To know your enemy, you must become your enemy”, evidently he implies that you must understand the situation where enemy is placed, his actions and emotions and the signs of uneasiness displayed by him!

Cheers!
